Navigation

Although the Gulf of Saint-Florent is naturally protected, gales are always possible in the Mediterranean, especially around Cap Corse. So, to enjoy your sea outing with peace of mind, follow our navigation advice and respect the maritime regulations to the letter. Thank you.

Sailing in Saint Florent

Sail safely and serenely.

Safety at sea is everyone's business. For a successful experience, here are the rules to follow:

Before leaving the port:

  • Together we tour the boat and take stock of the situation.
  • Pay attention to the advice of the Corsica Nautic team.
  • Check the condition of the propeller and the base of your engine.
  • Take photos of the boat, note the number of cushions and make sure they are securely attached.
  • Check the fuel level.

You leave the port:

  • Respect the speed limit of 3 knots to the harbour exit, then 5 knots to the red marking (port side) 300 metres past the harbour.

You are in the sea:

  • It is forbidden to sail with the awning unfolded. And don't hang on to it when getting back on the boat (twisted sun rate = 500 euros charged).
  • You are responsible for everyone on board: check that child under ten are wearing their lifejackets.
  • Lifejackets and safety equipment are stored in one of the lockers.
  • To avoid accidents, do not sail along the sea within 300 metres of the coastline.

You are approaching the beaches:

  • Reduce your speed gradually.
  • Are you dragging a buoy, water skis or a wakeboard? You must signal with an orange flame. It is also strictly forbidden to drag within 300 metres of the coast.

You are at anchor:

  • Il est interdit de « beacher » directement les bateaux sur le sable.
  • You should always anchor with your back to the beach.
  • Be careful not to interfere with other boaters, and check that no visible rocks are nearby.
  • Check that the depth under the boat is at least 1 meter.
  • After dropping the anchor with a length of chain twice the size of the boat, backtrack a little to tighten the chain and anchor yourself properly in the sand.
  • Before leaving the boat, check its balance.

Before 4 p.m.:

  • Please text or call us before you return to the port, which should be no later than 6 pm.
  • Fill up with petrol before returning the boat and keep the receipt.

Do you have a question when you are at sea or on the beach? Don't hesitate to call us.
